How to Keep Your Flocked Christmas Tree Looking Fresh and Vibrant

Maintaining your flocked Christmas tree is easier if you clean and store it properly at the end of every Christmas season. This way, you can reduce dust accumulation and protect the tree from damage.

If your tree becomes discolored during storage, you can still restore its beauty by following some steps.

Below are a few tips you’d need for cleaning a flocked Christmas tree turned yellow.

1. For care instructions on how to clean a yellowed flocked Christmas tree, refer to the packaging. And if you will, you may contact the manufacturer’s customer service department.

2. You can keep your yellowed tree in direct sunlight for a couple of hours. In the case of subtle discoloration, a bit of sun can take stains out and restore the tree’s former glory. This is most easily accomplished during sunny spring or summer days.

3. Sunlight alone may not be effective, so mix 3 parts white vinegar with 1 part water and spray it onto affected branches. Make sure the tree is in direct sunlight for a minimum of 12 hours. And through the reaction of vinegar and sunlight, the branches will be bleached white.

Keep in mind that if the tree is intentionally altered or misused, most stores will void the warranty.  So, refrain from bleaching while your tree is still under warranty.

When it comes to maintaining the beauty of your flocked Christmas tree, the best step is prevention. It works every now and then for nearly every home decor.
